“Wherever I am, I am influenced by my observations and experience of the nature I’m surrounded by; the leaf of a tree, clouds, a flower or a beautifully designed building. These impressions merged with the uniqueness of each stone are where my inspiration come from.
In my younger days, spending time in Indonesia, I worked with and learned about onyx and crystals. While living in Australia, I was exposed to opal mining and salt water natural pearl farming.
It was after this period, I began to work in Columbia, South America where I spent time mining and processing Emeralds for several years where I realized my deep passion for uncut raw Emeralds.
Later, in 1998, I attended and graduated from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) for a deeper understanding of gemology as a whole.
Since 2004, I have been living in Bali, Indonesia with my family where I continue to be inspired from the beauty of my surroundings providing the basic ingredients of what I need to further my goals. ” – Honoka Kawazoe
